Years of clinical experience
Sarah Coulter BSc (Hons)
I'm Sarah, a physiotherapist with over 17 years of experience working across the NHS, community rehabilitation services, intermediate care and urgent community response teams.
Throughout my career, I have helped adults with a wide range of conditions including mobility problems, falls, post-surgical recovery, neurological conditions, orthopaedic injuries, long-term health conditions and age-related frailty. Much of my experience has involved supporting people in their own homes, helping them regain confidence, maintain independence and achieve meaningful goals that matter in everyday life.
I have worked in community rehabilitation, falls prevention, rapid response services, intermediate care units, elderly care, trauma, intensive care and neurological rehabilitation. I have extensive experience assessing complex patients, prescribing rehabilitation programmes, advising on equipment and working closely with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Alongside my physiotherapy degree, I have undertaken additional training in falls prevention, neurological rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, Parkinson's disease management and APPI Pilates rehabilitation, allowing me to provide evidence-based, personalised care. I am also currently completing a psychology degree, with a particular interest in the mind-body connection and how psychological factors influence engagement, motivation and recovery in rehabilitation.
I founded Home First Physiotherapy because I believe rehabilitation is often most effective in the place where people live their daily lives. By bringing physiotherapy directly to your home, I can assess the real challenges you face and develop practical solutions to help you move more confidently, stay active and remain as independent as possible.
